The Chicago Free School Brand Identity

The Chicago Free School is a democratic, student-centered, alternative school opening on the south side of Chicago in Fall 2014. The Chicago Free School holds that students should be empowered to direct their own learning by making choices about what they want to learn and how they can learn it best. The winning logo includes an original icon developed for the school -- an elm tree who's leaves are also fluffy white clouds. The tree represents growth, strength, and independence, while the clouds speak to creativity, exploration, imagination, and possibilities.
